Laura Vergeer, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Laura completed her PhD in Nutritional Sciences with a Collaborative Specialization in Public Health Policy at the University of Toronto, where her research focused on food and nutrition policy for population health. Laura has led or contributed to studies on food company nutrition policies and actions, food (re)formulation, nutrition labelling, food processing, nutrient profiling, food marketing to children, food prices and dietary practices. Her doctoral research and training were supported by the CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship Doctoral Award and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. Laura’s initial work with the OUTLIVE lab will focus on studies aimed at exploring digital marketing of unhealthy foods to children and adolescents.
